I tried and it simply will not work at a root level like that. I can get it to work as /viewcvs/ but not simply as /. I'd need to bug upstream to figure out why I can't get it to work properly. Everytime I'd try, it'd just totally break something. I even posted the question on their mailing list without any reply :(. Anyways, thanks for the comment! Nope, believe me..
